For all of you that have prepared for any kind of craft/art show, you can relate to the pre-show prep and adrenalin jitters...and you can also relate to the apres-show fatigue (hence the title of this post). I have finally finished cleaning up my craft room (although it lives under a fine dusting of glitter at all times) - and processed the photos from the Art Walk evening I mentioned in my last post. The evening was really great fun - Elizabeth Zapien-Plata of Queen Mab's could not have been nicer and I did quite well in the sales department. Elizabeth's son stood in front of the store, playing tunes with a Parisian flair on his accordion - and the State Theatre (next door) had an art show in the lobby and showed student-produced horror movies on the screen inside. We now have several galleries downtown and the restaurants also did a pretty brisk business. All in all, it was a very enjoyable night. Here are some pictures of the interior at Queen Mab's...

The photos do not do the store justice. It is just jam-packed full of things you just KNOW you need! They even have a section with merchandise geared to the little ones: Books, games, clothing; etc.
The photos following the pink armoire are of some of the things I featured - the first photo being my display. All I can say after viewing the pics is that I really have to do some serious study on how to use my camera!

Here is a Dia de los Muertos skull that I made - the color looks bad - I painted a plastic skull, coated it in clear glitter to make it look like it was made of sugar, added a colorful crepe paper ruff and silk marigolds, then perched him on a black pedestal. I sold both of the skulls I made.

Queen of the Night started out as a cardboard cone glued to the top of a papier mache box and morphed into what you see here...

The Halloween shoes each had a tag attached that said "I Put a Spell on You".

Last, but not least are my little Halloween witches...very proper in their Puritan hats. You can see them in beginning stages on my prior post.

Thank you to everyone for being patient. This has been a crazy week - and just when you thought it was "safe to go back in the water" - the holiday season is about to begin and it's back to the drawing board, so to speak! Oh...and for those of you who don't already know, don't forget the last picture...the Bloglandia Halloween Ball!
